I graduated from the Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 2018 with a Bachelor of Media Arts in Animation. I currently live and work in Vancouver BC at Emily Carr as an Animation Technician. I work with students to realize their projects, maintain lab equipment, and work with faculty to improve the animation department.
My thesis film from Emily Carr, BIRD MILK, has been internationally showcased at over 25 film and animation festivals around the world. It was awarded Best Canadian Student Animation at the 2018 Ottawa International Animation Festival and the Audience Award at the 2019 Ann Arbor Film Festival. Other notable festivals include the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, Raindance Film Festival, and the Melbourne International Animation Festival.
In addition to my film work, I enjoy creating interactive installations and live visual experiences. My interactive piece Goopy was awarded the inaugural Moment Factory Award at THE SHOW 2018, the Emily Carr graduation show.
I like working in a variety of mediums, from 2D traditional and digital to 3D CG. A common thread through my work is creating interesting and engaging textures by exploring a medium to its very limits. When a medium starts to break down, that is where I make my best work. My goal in my work is to create an emotional response through raw abstract imagery.
I am a founding member of Flavourcel, an animation collective located here in Vancouver. We are a collection of young professionals who want to create an alternate narrative to the studio based animation industry in Vancouver.
